I have to say, that this is the most frightening thing I have done so far as a songwriter. It isn’t easy to switch language to another. But I have decided to give English lyric-writing a change.
Everything started on a cold Finnish spring night..
I found songwriters academy and listed myself in 555 challenges: 5 mentors, 5 nights, and 5 challenges. It was eye-opening to realize that all that matters is the song. Everything else is just window-dressing. The week went flying and, of course, I had to participate in Bootcamp. And then..
I realized that I haven’t written lyrics in English for so long time (almost 20 years), that I started panicking. Suddenly I had to speak with others and we, one step at a time, started to collaborate. On the final day, we could have just written a whole song if we would have had more time. Two hours wasn’t just enough to do so.
Things I learned through these courses were priceless. I learned that I could give something to the mixture of collaboration and can still write music.
So I want to give a warm thank you to those people that collaborated with me on those five days. You were so warm and understanding when I started to mumble some finglishm.
And now.. I want to do more and more international collaboration and start to co-write more and more songs. I can bring backing tracks and can do beats for collaboration. My expertise is melody and toplining and forming hooks. (if needed I can do earworms that stick to your head almost instantly and last almost forever)
You can find me on social media – let’s collab!
